Although Deadline announced that the original writing team from the first Ant-Man film would return for the sequel, Adam McKay has inisted that he wasn’t sure if he’d be back for the sequel, although he continually expressed interest at the possibility. So, while it isn’t too surprising that, during a recent interview with the folks over at Nerdist, McKay officially confirmed that, yes, he would be returning to work on Ant-Man and the Wasp alongside Ant-Man himself, Paul Rudd, and Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari. Interestingly enough, however, while he confirms his involvement, he continues to be unsure as to what extent he’ll be involved.
“We’ve been talking to Marvel actually,” McKay told me. “We just talked to them the other day, and it looks like I will be involved. I don’t know if it’s gonna be right from page one. But it looks like I will definitely be involved. There you go. There’s a little headline for the fanboys!”
With McKay officially confirming the initial Deadline report from December, it’s more than likely we’ll see an officiall announcement from Marvel soon regarding the returns of diretor Peyton Reed, as well as the original writing team: Rudd, Barrer, Ferrari, and McKay. Until then, for all things Ant-Man and the Wasp be sure to follow along here.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to hit movie theaters on July 6th, 2018.
