We’re less than a month away from the season three finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and as we’ve seen with last week’s excellent episode, the show is building towards something big. In the past, S.H.I.E.L.D. has made it a point to drastically change the show during the finales, allowing for the ability to constantly reinvent itself going forward. That doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon, at least, going off of the newly released press release for episode twenty, titled “Emancipation“. Interestingly enough, last week, we’d gotten a look at the synopsis for the two part season finale – which you can check out here – but this is the first we’re hearing in regards to the episode leading up to that.

For those looking for a tie-in for Captain America: Civil War, the synopsis below will more than likely intrigue you as it teases the registration of the Inhumans. Of course, in Civil War, the Avengers are forced to sign the Sokovia Accords, following the destruction and devastation they’ve left in their wake during attacks we’ve seen showcased in films such as Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. When it comes to the registration of the Inhumans, however, this will be a direct response to the events that take place within Civil War. While there’s still some disconnect between the television and film side of things, it’s nice to see S.H.I.E.L.D. making it a point to try and connect with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Emancipation” – With only two episodes left before S.H.I.E.L.D. loses one of their own, Daisy’s prophecy ticks closer towards a major loss, as the aftermath of the events of “Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War” force S.H.I.E.L.D. to register the Inhumans, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, MAY 10 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter, Adrianne Palicki as Agent Bobbi Morse, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and Luke Mitchell as Lincoln Campbell.

Emancipation” was written by Craig Titley and directed by Vincent Misiano.

Titley wrote the absolutely fantastic bottle episode, “4,722 Hours“, which allowed us to see what Simmons experienced during her time on Maveth, so I’m incredibly excited to see what he has in store for “Emancipation“.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays on ABC. Be sure to tune in! And as always, for all things S.H.I.E.L.D., be sure to follow along here.
