While we still await the fate of Agent Carter, ABC has surprised everyone by giving an early fourth season renewal to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Now, is it surprising that the show was renewed? Not at all, it was expected actually. What is surprising, however, is that they decided to announce the renewals ahead of May. For those that haven’t been following the changes at ABC, Paul Lee, who was known for withholding renewal and cancellations announcement prior to May’s upfronts, is no longer at head of the network. He was replaced by Channing Dungey, who is obviously taking the network in a different direction. What is great about this renewal is that a season five is almost a certainty as the show will then have over the required minimum for syndication!
