We all know that Marvel looks to add the biggest names in Hollywood to their movies, and taking a look at the most recent additions proves just that. With the likes of Kurt Russell, Michael Keaton, Cate Blanchett, and many more coming on board, Marvel is a place that attracts talent. Phase 3 has been announced since 2014, and although it has changed a bit, the leads for all the films have filled out. All except for Captain Marvel, that is.

Well, it appears we now know who Marvel is zeroing in on, and it is not that big of a surprise. Variety is reporting that Brie Larson is the front runner to play the role, stating that she is in early talks and is leaning towards accepting the offer. She is coming straight off her Academy Award winning performance in Room, which is when plenty of people hoped that she would get the part.

It is still early according to the report, but with Larson only being 26 and showing the range it takes to play the part, she seems like the perfect choice. I’m 1000% on board for Larson as Carol Danvers should the deal go through, and with her needed to be on set for Avengers: Infinity War in the fall, we should know who gets the role sooner rather than later. Captain Marvel is scheduled to hit theaters March 8th, 2019.
