This week brought about the possible conclusion to the long road of casting Carol Danvers for Marvel Studios. Word has come out that Brie Larson is the front runner to nab the role, with two possible directors also surfacing. I have already voiced how Larson is the perfect choice, and the majority of people are under the same thinking that she would do an amazing job in the role. Praise from fans and viewers is one thing, but one of the biggest Avengers is hoping this happens as well.

During his appearance today at Wizard World Philadelphia, Chris Evans was asked for his thoughts on Larson potentially getting the role. As he notes, they have worked together previously, and he is hopeful that they will team up to fight Thanos.

I just heard about that. I really hope that happens! I love Brie Larson. We did a movie together back in ’09, Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I cannot say enough about Brie Larson. I think she’s phenomenal, and I really hope that happens.

I’m sure it is nice to have Captain America himself back your potential casting, and Evans addressing this at all makes me even further believe this casting will happen. With Carol set to appear in either part of Avengers: Infinity War, Larson and Evans will be reunited later this year when the nine month shoot starts. Let us know your thoughts on Larson as Captain Marvel in the comments below!

Captain Marvel is scheduled to hit theaters March 8, 2019.
