Warning: This post contains spoilers for Daredevil Season Two. If you have not seen all of Season Two, yet, you may not want to read any further.
In the true spirit of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe being connected, the Hell’s Kitchen in the Marvel Netflix corner of the MCU is starting to overlap in exciting ways. While Brett Mahoney (Royce Johnson) from Daredevil showed up in Jessica Jones, the first Jessica Jones reference in Daredevil season two came from a character that used to date Foggy Nelson himself.
Amy Rutberg, who plays Marci Stahl in Daredevil, was excited to learn that her character was going to be working at the same law firm that is representing Jessica Jones. In a recent interview, she talked about finding out about her new job at Hogarth, Chao and Benowitz.
“It’s super exciting!” enthused Rutberg. “No, I totally work for them! Yeah! … It was amazingly exciting when I saw that, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I said to my husband, I’m like — I don’t even get to hold the script. It’s on an embedded, encrypted website so I can only read it on my computer. You can’t even maximize the font, so I’m like, ‘Does that say what I think it says?’ ‘Jessica Jones‘ hadn’t come out yet, so I didn’t know. I knew the name, obviously.”
Amy also went on to talk about the significance of Marci Stahl’s new career in the overall world of Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
“I’m honored because I said when I arrived on set, like, ‘Wait guys — this is a big deal.’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, it’s the first time we’ve had a crossover from ‘Daredevil‘s’ perspective.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah! Marci gets to do it!’ It was very exciting.”
Of course, Hogarth, of Hogarth, Chao and Benowitz, is closely involved with Rand Corporation in the comics, so while we are fairly certain that we will see more of Carrie Ann Moss (who also made a cameo in this season of Daredevil!) in Iron Fist, this opens up the possibility that we will see more of Marci Stahl in that series as well. With her ability to jump from cold-hearted attorney to Foggy’s number one fan, I’m excited for the possibility of seeing her in any of the Netflix series. How about you?
