During the first season of Agent Carter, Peggy was on a mission to clear Howard Stark’s (Dominic Cooper) name but also had the threat of Leviathan looming large. One of the key players for Leviathan was Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan).
Dottie, trained in the Black Widow program as a young girl, proved to be a tough and tiring antagonist for Peggy to go up against. The two eventually collided in the season finale and it seemed Dottie had met her end after being thrown out a window by Peggy, but she somehow escaped despite multiple wounds.
Unlike some of her other cast members, Chad Michael Murray, James D’Arcy, and Enver Gjokaj, she had not yet been confirmed to reappear. That has apparently changed thanks to Hayley Atwell, who made an appearance at Fan Expo Canada this past weekend.
Hypable was at the expo and in their coverage of Atwell’s panel, they noted the following,
We also haven’t seen the last of Dotty, and there will be more of her in season 2.
This is a good sign as Dottie is the first female character other than Peggy to be confirmed to appear. We do know that Madame Masque will be the villain this season, so having Peggy’s main villains both be female will be a refreshing change and follow the show’s pattern of promoting strong female characters.
Now we just need to hope that Lyndsy Fonseca will return as Peggy’s BFF Angie Martinelli, because who didn’t love that pairing together?
Agent Carter returns for season 2 during the winter break of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for an extended 10 episodes early next year.
