Now that fans are aware of Darryl, Thor’s roomate while he rested after Avengers: Age of Ultron, they can’t get enough. After seeing the mockumentary of the God of Thunder living with an every-day Australian citizen, Darryl, fans formally demanded more of the pair via a Change.org petition.
Director Taika Waititi revealed to IGN that fans just might get to see a little bit more of Darryl.
I think you probably could see him again. There may be other little pieces of that thing that everyone saw that may just be a small part of a bigger thing.
Of course, there were “pieces” in the mockumentary other than Darryl’s appearance as Thor’s very-normal roommate. Mark Ruffalo also appeared, as Bruce Banner, discussing the fight between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. In fact, there were so many little details thrown into the short sketch, Waititi could be talking about anything. Specifically, Thor had a sketch on his wall with Thanos and the Infinity Stones.
But we all hope that Waititi is talking about Darryl because nothing is better than watching Thor try to be a normal person and failing spectacularly. When pushed for more information that Waititi definitely can’t share, the director gave a firm word on what we will not see in Ragnarok.
OK. OK. OK. OK. OK. A thing that will definitely not happen is… oh man, if I say anything, it might hint at something else. I have to really watch my words nowadays. This is a topic I should really avoid. OK, one thing you can get from me, not being in Thor, is any of our vampire characters and werewolf characters from the other Taika and Jemaine universe. You won’t see any of that.
While Marvel isn’t completely void of vampires, there wasn’t much expectation that they would show up in a Thor movie. Thor: Ragnarok is currently filming in Australia, and will be released on November 3, 2017. Speculate on the future of Darryl in the comments!
