Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been a wild ride, introducing us to new characters, taking us to new dimensions, and bringing back some characters that we thought we would never see again. But as we move toward summer, the season is coming to a close. While it is a few weeks before we will see the ending, the folks behind the scenes have already made it happen. Executive Producer Maurissa Tancharoen announced that yesterday was the last day of filming, via her Twitter account.

One character that we got to meet this year was Jason O’Mara‘s Jeffrey Mace, also known as The Patriot. While he started off as a fishy bureaucrat as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., fans have fallen in love with him (and his abs) as we have seen his characters strengths and weaknesses.

I definitely hope that however they ended Mace’s story, this season, that we will see him again somewhere in the MCU. He isn’t the only character that we have gotten to know over the past seven months, there have been various characters that Mallory Jansen has brought to life as Aida, Agnes, and Madame Hydra. She has beautifully portrayed a range of humanity, and lack thereof, that made it hard to forget that all of her roles were embodied by only one actress.

We haven’t yet heard from the core cast members that are active on social media, such as Chloe Bennet and Clark Gregg, which could mean that they still have small pieces to film, or that they are too exhausted to check in. Meanwhile, there is a hint that we will get at least one more mission from these agents, but Season Five has not been confirmed.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. moves closer to the season finale tonight, at 10 PM Easter on ABC. Do you think they are working toward a season finale or a series finale? Let us know, in the comments.
