One cast member missing from this Tuesday’s season three premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was Grant Ward (Brett Dalton). The season two finale teased him taking over as the new head of Hydra, something that has also been hinted at in promotional photos for this season. We got our first look at Ward in Purpose in the Machine when Marvel and ABC released the first promo video after the season three premiere. And now, thanks to a clip just released by ABC, we have a better look at Ward in his new position as Hydra’s new head. As you can see below, he’s taking his new role very seriously.

“Purpose in the Machine” – Fitz and the team enlist the aid of an Asgardian to unlock the secrets of the ancient monolith that swallowed Simmons, and Agent May is at a crossroads in her personal and professional life, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
