With the upcoming premiere of the fourth season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the studio has been generously giving fans several looks at Ghost Rider, a popular hero from the comics that is set to debut at some point during the upcoming season. At this point, we’ve already seen Gabriel Luna in costume, and we’ve gotten a close look at his signature car.

Now, ABC has given us the first footage of Ghost Rider in action…sort of. The footage is shot as if it were on a cell phone, and Ghost Rider’s car is visible for just a few moments, with the operator seemingly in disbelief that he spotted Ghost Rider.

Unfortunately, no flaming skull or chain whip are visible, nor any person for that matter, but the teaser gives us a big clue as to the character’s mysterious backstory: people will know who Ghost Rider is.

The studio will be altering Robbie Reyes’ backstory, but it is unclear in what ways, and with the Sokovia Accords in effect, civilians knowing who Ghost Rider is will pose an interesting situation for the upcoming season.

ABC’s fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will premiere on September 20th in a new 10 p.m. time slot. It’s unclear right now if Ghost Rider will debut in the premier, or later in the season.
