Mark your calendar folks. At 4 A.M. today, the official Twitter account of the Iron Fist announced the premiere date of the final Marvel Netflix show leading up to the Defenders along with a brand new photo. March 17, 2017 is the day we will see Danny Rand punch a dragon in the heart.

The release date is interesting as it almost coincides with the March 10 release date of Daredevil Season 2 earlier this year and in that it gives us an idea on when The Defenders show could premiere. Production for The Defenders starts in a few weeks and given that the show only has 8 episodes, the usual 9 month production period may be trimmed down to 5 to 6 months meaning the show may be ready to premiere as early as July. It all comes down to Netflix’s desire to put The Defenders mid-year to potentially give way for another Marvel show during the last quarter of 2017. NYCC is just around the corner, so expect more Iron Fist news in the coming days.
Iron Fist streams everywhere on Netflix on March 17, 2017.
