As we approach the May 5th premiere of the highly-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the marketing campaign for the film has started to ramp up. Just over a week ago, we got to see a new Super Bowl trailer drop online, and more recently, a new TV spot was released yesterday. As usual, the new spot raised a lot of questions from the fans, and in typical fashion, James Gunn took to Twitter to give us some answers.

The opening sequence for the first Guardians of the Galaxy is arguably the best opening sequence for a Marvel film to date. Watching Star Lord dance to Redbone’s classic Come and Get Your Love as he went to steal the orb containing the Power Stone immediately set the tone for the rest of the movie. As I was sitting in the theater watching it for the first time, I immediately knew what to expect from the rest of the film. During the Twitter Q&A, one fan asked Gunn if the opening sequence for Vol. 2 would be as cool, he had this to say:

At this point, we don’t need any more details. If Gunn says it’s going to be better, we’ll take him at his word. However the film opens, just expect it to be awesome. The opening sequence to Vol. 1 wouldn’t have been nearly as striking if it hadn’t been set to the classic Awesome Mix Vol. 1, and one of the most highly anticipated parts of the sequel is the tracklist for Awesome Mix Vol. 2. The first trailer for Vol. 2 was set to Sweet’s Fox on the Run, and ever since its inclusion, fans have been desperate to know what else we can expect to hear in the new mix. When another fan asked Gunn if all of the songs in the trailers will be on the new mixtape, he stepped in to clarify:

So don’t expect to hear every song in the trailers on the final tape, but at least we know Star Lord would approve of all of them. Speaking of things we may or may not hear in the final film, one fan asked Gunn about some of Drax’s lines in the TV spots. In some versions, when Mantis gets hit by some sort of blast, Drax tells her to look out, while in the new TV spot, he says that the blast almost hit him. So which line will we hear? Were the two lines recorded during different takes? Again, Gunn to the rescue:

Speaking of Pom Klementieff’s Mantis, someone also asked whether or not her final look in the film was mostly practical or CGI. Interestingly enough, it’s mostly practical:

Also speaking of computer-generated effects, yet another fan asked Gunn to clarify his brother Sean Gunn’s role in the film and in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Sean has worn the green screen suit while on set, performing as Rocket Raccoon since the first Guardians film, and will continue to do so through Infinity War:

And for those of you who enjoy watching 3D movies, Gunn also claimed that while the 3D for Vol. 1 was award-winning, Vol. 2 will be even better:

What do you think? Do you still have burning questions about Vol. 2? Let us know in the comments below!
