Warning: Spoilers ahead for Doctor Strange. If you haven’t seen the movie yet (and seriously, why haven’t you?) you may not want to proceed.

One of the coolest details of Doctor Strange was the manifestation of the Dark Dimension in the face of Kaecillius (Mads Mikkelson) and his followers. In a visual representation of the Dark Dimension giving them power, the characters who had received powers from the Dark Dimension have a trippy purple design around their eyes, which matches the face of Dormammu.

According to Cosmic Booknews, the new Marvel’s Doctor Strange: The Art of the Movie book available on Amazon includes many other variations of ideas that were presented for Kaecillius. Concept art, such as these images and the ones that we posted earlier today of Dormammu, are frequently used by the director and production team to determine the visual style of the movie.

What do you think of the different directions that Kaecillius could have gone, as shown in these images? Are there any that you prefer to what made the final movie cut? Let us know in the comments!
