When you look at the cast list for Agent Carter season 2, there was one notable missing character from season 1. Angie Martinelli, played by Lyndsy Fonseca, was a beloved character in the first season thanks to her friendliness towards Peggy and her kind nature. The absence of Fonseca’s name on the season two cast list frustrated some fans that were eager to see her friendship with Peggy further develop in the second season. So if you were of fan of her like I was, this next piece of information should make you very happy. EW has reported that Fonseca is set to return in the ninth episode of the season, but not in a way that you might have expected.

The cameo will come as part of a dream sequence filled with musical numbers and dancing, which is certainly something new for the MCU. Showrunner Michelle Fazekas had this to say about what will happen,

Episode 8 ends with a cliffhanger where Peggy and Jarvis [James D’Arcy] get in big trouble and are knocked out. Episode 9 begins with a dream sequence that starts in black and white — by the way, [Atwell] was made for black and white. She looks like Rita Hayworth. She looks spectacular.

She’s your conscience and she’s speaking the things that Peggy maybe can’t say to herself. It ties things back together from the first season and it’s connecting all of these things in a way that only a dream can do.

The episode will not be entirely in black and white, since the first musical number will bring the color back, which is an original song made by David Zippel and Christopher Lennertz.

This may not be a season long supporting role or multiple episode arc like I hoped, but the more Angie the better.

Season 2 of Agent Carter will have its two hour premiere January 19th on ABC at 9 p.m. EST.
