It looks like today is Doctor Strange day, folks. Not only has Strange graced the cover of the next issue of Entertainment Weekly that gave us our first look at his costume, EW also went on to give us looks at his powers and more. And they are not stopping there!
Instead of focusing on the lead, the attention has now turned to the main villain. Back in August, it was reported that Mads Mikklesen was being eyed to play a villain, but to what level was unknown. According EW’s latest report, Mikklesen will be the main villain Strange goes up against in the film.
Although the character has not been revealed quite yet, executive producer, Stephen Broussard, confirmed the news. Kevin Feige went on to give a few tidbits about the character,
Mads’ character is a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect. [He] believes that the Ancient One is just protecting her own power base and that the world may be better off if we were to allow some of these other things through.
Marvel is not ready to reveal who the character is, and in fact have only done so for Cumberbatch and Tilda Swinton (Ancient One). Based on what Broussard has seen speculated, it still remains a mystery.
I’ve seen lots of names thrown around. No one has quite picked the name that we’ve chosen for him. It would be fun to conceal that, if we can.
With Mikklesen and Cumberbatch both having magical abilities, plus some supporting cast members, we will certainly have no shortage of dimensions to visit. These dimensions should help make the movie not only interesting in terms of story, but also visually according to Feige.
We will take audiences through sort of a guide to the multiverse, other dimensions, and there are amazing things out there — wonders that are going to be hopefully visually extremely interesting and unique to this movie. But there are also very scary things in these other dimensions.

Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit theaters November 4, 2016.
