Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to leave Pinewood Studios in Atlanta this week and once they are gone, it is only a matter of time before Spider-Man: Homecoming moves into the studio to start production. Once production begins, we will get a casting announcement from Marvel/Sony that details who all is in the cast and (hopefully) what roles they have. During the past few days, we have seen Kenneth Choi and fan favorite Donald Glover join the cast, and now (just moments ago) we learned that Logan Marshall-Green has joined the ever-growing cast in a villainous role. If these recent additions along with the numerous other reports were not enough to satisfy your need for Spider-Man news, then you are in luck.

Deadline is now reporting that Martin Starr has joined the cast, but they did not offer any info on who he could be playing. Even though I think that Marshall-Green will be playing Tinkerer based on what we have heard regarding the plot, going strictly off looks, Starr has the appearance of a crazy scientist that would not be afraid to mess around with Chitauri equipment. That said, if that is not the case there are a few possibilities for Starr. Seeing him as one of Peter’s teachers makes sense, but I could also see him being a fellow journalist for The Daily Bugle.

If any of the other trades report on who he could be playing, we will be sure to let you know. Until that point, let us know who you think Starr could be playing in the comments below!

Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled to hit theaters July 7, 2017.
