The fact that music plays a big part in the Luke Cage Netflix series is no secret. From the titles of the episodes to the listed influences in the story to the actual musical performances within the series, music has played a huge part in forming the series (just have a look at these MCU Exchange items)
This influence is now being taken to the next level as Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge, who provided the score to the series, have curated a live performance of the series’s music with a 40-piece orchestra to be performed called Marvel’s Luke Cage: The Live Score. The event will be held on October 6th in LA at the Theatre at Ace Hotel and is presented by event production and artist management company ArtDontSleep. The show’s soundtrack album will be released the following day.
The performance will be hosted by comedians Russell Peters and Wayne Brady, and will also feature an opening DJ set by mega producer No I.D.
This musical performance adds another dimension to the MCU and stresses the importance of music in this particular series. If you’re lucky enough to be in the area, tickets for the event go on sale Saturday, September 24 at 10:00am via axs.com or by phone 888-9-AXS-TIX.
