Megan McLaren To Appear In Luke Cage

Luke Cage has been filming in New York for a few weeks now, and while Marvel and Netflix have announced a fair amount of cast members, it’s safe to say there will still be a few surprises along the way.

While browsing the IMDB page for the show recently, I took note of a character named Megan McLaren listed under the cast to be played by an actress named Dawn-Lyen Gardner. Megan McLaren, while more than likely not a name familiar to most comic book fans off hand, is actually a character taken from the comics and is a television reporter for WJBP-TV (which was teased in earlier set photos).

S.H.I.E.L.D. Rises In Live + 3 Day Ratings

While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hasn’t been able recapture the same audience it held during the series premiere, the show has managed to find a steady audience that continues to come back week after week. And while the live ratings aren’t fantastic, S.H.I.E.L.D. manages to do quite well with Live + 3 ratings. According to the latest press release from ABC, S.H.I.E.L.D. managed to grow to a 2.6 rating in the very important Adults 18-49 demographic.

Primetime Rating Report for the Week of October 5, 2015

(Based on National Live + Same Day Program Ratings)

ABC Delivers 8 of the Top 20 Entertainment Shows in Adults 18-49,
Airing 8 of the Top 10 Live-Action Comedies and 3 of the Top 5 Dramas

“S.H.I.E.L.D.” Wins its Hour with Men 18-34 and Builds by 10% on its Premiere

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (9:00-10:00 p.m. – 4.3 million and 1.6/5 in AD18-49):

At 9:00 p.m., ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” ran in a virtual tie with CBS’ “NCIS: New Orleans” in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5 vs. 1.7/6) and will once again move ahead with playback to rank as the No. 1 scripted show in the hour,as it did last week. “S.H.I.E.L.D.” was steady with its week-earlier season opener in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5 vs. 1.7/5) and built on its premiere by 10% with Men 18-34. In fact, the ABC drama won the hour versus its non-sports competition with Men 18-34.

Live + 3 Day: Last week’s telecast of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” jumped to a 2.6 rating in Adults 18-49 (up +53% from a 1.7 L+SD), moving out of a tie with “NCIS: New Orleans” to beat the CBS drama by 4-tenths of a rating point in L+3.

With S.H.I.E.L.D. nearing the necessary amount of episodes for syndication, a season four is pretty much guaranteed at this point. Still, it’s nice to see the show do well, especially considering how great the show continues be week after week.

Spider-Man Director Teases Comic Inspirations

Ever since Jon Watts was confirmed as the director of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot earlier this year, the director has been pretty open to talking about the film – well, as much as he can. We know that the film will have a John Hughes feel to it, and that Peter will be fifteen in the reboot. Now, we have a better idea of the comics he may be looking at for the upcoming feature.

We’ve heard online that you’re going to bring Peter back to high school, and that we should to expect a John Hughes-y sort of vibe –

Jon Watts: Yeah!

Have you been looking at any comics in particular to help shape that? Because, when I heard that, Ultimate Spider-Man was the first thing that sprung to mind…

JW: Oh, I love that. Ultimate is great. I love Ultimate. We have the freedom to pull from anything, but I really like what [Brian Michael] Bendis did. A lot. That felt like… that was Peter Parker back in high school. And, spending as much time with his high school problems as it did with his superhero problems, which I think is really a lot of fun.
