With the release of Doctor Strange just about a month away, Marvel has released a new promotional video via Twitter which plays mostly backwards. The action is in reverse of the same footage in other trailers, and even some lines of dialogue are played backwards. Watch it embedded above to experience the disorienting effect.

Some comments out of the Marvel creative team have suggested that the Eye of Agamotto may actually be the Time Stone, but recently Kevin Feige suggested that Infinity Stones would not play a major role in the film. This new video, however, argues to the contrary. While the film might not explicitly get into the language of “Infinity Stones” the ability of Strange to manipulate time does seem to be part of the film’s overall direction. He is able to pause time mid-battle and then move backwards. (This is also the closest fans have gotten to seeing Kaecilius and Strange in hand to hand combat.)
One signal that an Infinity Stone is involved is the prominent use of green in the Eye of Agamotto and the imagery of magic. Astute observers will remember the blue cloud of Avengers, the prominent reds of Thor: The Dark World, and the frequent purple of Guardians of the Galaxy. When Marvel is displaying a new stone it often is very color centric, with the mind stone in Vision being the exception. The hues used in those films are hardly subtle, and neither is the green here. Given most traditional depictions of the infinity gauntlet, green and orange are the remaining colors not taken by another stone.
