With the North American premiere of Doctor Strange a week away, the marketing team over at Marvel Studios is working overtime, pushing out as many spots as they can. This week alone, we’ve seen two new TV spots and a brand new promo video not seen before.
In the promo video, which can be seen below, actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the film’s titular character, can be seen “diagnosing” some injuries the characters of Captain America: Civil War sustained during various fight sequences in that film.
The two TV spots, which don’t feature much, if any new footage we haven’t seen yet, they do continue to hammer across the stunning visual effects used in the making of the film. In the first clip, titled ‘Upside Down’, we hear the Ancient One, as portrayed by actress Tilda Swinton, ask a pre-Sorcerer Supreme Stephen Strange if he’s ready for his world to be turned upside down. The Ancient One then sends Strange on a “trip”, before we see more footage of him and Baron Mordo in their assumed chase scene in New York City.
The last clip is a short sixteen-second clip titled ‘Fight’. The clip is filled nearly entirely quick shots of the fight between Strange and the film’s primary antagonist Kaecilius in the Sanctum Sanctorum.
