When it was announced during SDCC this summer that Lash would be making an appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s third season, one of the many questions fans had was how they’d go about bringing the character to life. After all, the character’s design wouldn’t be an easy one to adapt for the screen. So when Marvel and ABC released a teaser of Lash during the season three promo last month, fans were overly anxious to get a look at the character’s live-action debut.

Unfortunately for fans, the premiere episode of season three didn’t exactly offer the greatest look at Matthew Willig‘s Lash. During his appearance at the hospital, Lash remained hidden beneath a rather dark blue light, making it hard to get a clear shot of the character. Thankfully, Marvel and ABC have since provided Access Hollywood with character images of Willig in his full Lash get-up, and I’ve gotta say, the design work is pretty great without the heavy blue tint.

For comparisons sake, here’s an image of Lash taken from the comics.

While it’s safe to say that there are plenty of differences between the two versions, I feel that S.H.I.E.L.D. has done a fantastic job of adapting the character design for the television show. In fact, the only thing I would probably change is the hair. Compared to the rest of the design, the the doesn’t seem as well thought out. Still, overall, it works.

What do you think? Now that we have a better look at Lash, are you a fan of the design? Sound off in the comments below.
