With the second season of Daredevil having officially premiered on Netflix, it’s time to turn our attention to the next series, Luke Cage. We already know that the series will debut on September 30th, thanks to Luke Cage himself, Mike Colter, and Netflix sneakily attached a teaser for the series to the end of Daredevil‘s second season. Outside of that, however, Marvel and Netflix haven’t really revealed too much concerning the series. Something that isn’t entirely surprising given we still have awhile before it’s set to premiere. Thanks to a tweet, however, we now know who directed the first two episodes of the series – Paul McGuigan.

McGuigan has worked on shows such as Sherlock Holmes and Scandal, and films Victor Frankenstein and Lucky Number Slevin, making him an interesting choice for a series like Luke Cage.

Of course, McGuigan isn’t the only known director for Luke Cage. Thanks to a few set photos courtesy of the folks at Getty Images, we know that Tom Shankland directed the ninth episode of the season. Shankland has worked on projects such as House of Cards, The Fades, and The Leftovers, all shows that have been received well among critics, making him a more understandable choice for a show like Cage.

What do you think of these directors? Are you excited to see what they bring to a series like Luke Cage? Sound off in the comments below.
