When Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 premieres next summer, it’ll do so with the addition of a fan-favorite character – Mantis, who’ll be played by actress Pom Klementieff. Until recently there wasn’t a lot of information regarding the actress’ role within the film. Klementieff’s appearance in the film had been shrouded in secrecy until the reveal of the SDCC exclusive poster, revealing that the studio has chosen to forego the green body paint. And at yesterday’s Hall H panel, we learned even more about her character’s story arc, as it was revealed she’d spent most of her life with Kurt Russell‘s Ego.

And now? Thanks to an interview with the folks at Entertainment Weekly, we know even more concerning Mantis’ appearance in the film. While we know that Mantis is an alien, but the actress revealed that she will have an accent of sorts.

“I’m an alien in the movie with a French accent,” Klementieff told EW at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday. She added a quick clarification: “An alien accent.”

Perhaps even better news for fans of the character is that the character seems to have a long future in store with the MCU. Regarding her character joining the Guardians and possibly having a role in other Marvel films? Klementieff responded rather enthusiastically.

The other strangeness will revolve around Pom Klementieff’s Mantis, who few would say much about, but Klementieff did say there had been talks about the character joining the Guardians and potentially having a role in future films. “I’m very much looking forward to that.”

Mantis will make her MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 when it hits the big screen on May 5th, 2017.
