The first season of Luke Cage was an instant hit. With critical acclaim before the show ever launched on Netflix, the hype over the series increased as millions of fans watched Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Rosario Dawson and a stellar cast of secondary characters bring the MCU to Harlem (for something more than Hulk-smashing). But the series left a lot of Cage’s story to be told, and now we know that it will be coming back for another season.

Marvel announced today that Luke Cage will be returning for a second season, with Cheo Hodari Coker returning as showrunner. Give where season one ended, we can expect to see more of Erik LaRay Harvey as Diamondback and Woodard’s Mariah Dillard in the new season, as well.

Marvel did not give any information on when Luke Cage season two will premiere, though it is expected that it will be after The Defenders, The Punisher, Jessica Jones season two, and Daredevil season three, which is a very long list, if Netflix sticks to their schedule of one Marvel television show every six months. The next installment of the MCU on Netflix will be Iron Fist, premiering on March 17, 2017.
