Well, this is a bit surprising. Even though Iron Fist season two is set to undergo production in mid April and only one cast member officially announced by Marvel, it looks as though news is temporarily shifting to Jessica Jones as Deadline has just announced that Raelle Tucker will be joining the series for its second season. Tucker, who has worked on shows such as True Blood and The Returned, will work alongside showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, filling the place of former executive producer Liz Friedman, who will be leaving the series to work on her ABC pilot, Conviction, which stars Hayley Atwell.

Along with the news, Deadline was able to get a quote from Rosenberg regarding the addition of Tucker to the second season, in which Rosenberg expressed her excitement over working with Tucker as they work on developing the second season.

“We’ve had such an incredible response to our first season on which I’ve been so fortunate to have an extraordinary team all the way down the line from the fellow writers, executive producers, cast and crew,” said Rosenberg. “I’m thrilled to have someone as talented as Raelle join our team as writer and executive producer as we delve into Jessica’s continued story.”

Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb echoed Rosenberg’s comments, citing the work of those involved with season one, as well as what’s to come in season two.

“Have to echo Melissa’s gratitude to everyone who worked on Season One — and now adding Raelle’s awesome skills as a writer and executive producer, we’re sure that Season Two will rock.”

As of right now, while Jessica Jones has received a second season order, it’s not expected to air until air The Defenders, meaning it’ll more than likely be some time before we have any more news regarding the show’s second season.
