With production on Thor: Ragnarok set to kick off in just four months, more news will begin to hit regarding returning cast members, as well as new cast members and characters joining the third Thor installment. Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) have already been confirmed to return, and while it’s not as definite, rumors suggest Anthony Hopkins will return, even though he has previously stated that two films was “enough”. As for the newcomers, we already know that Mark Ruffalo‘s Hulk will be joining the film, and it is looking more likely that Cate Blanchett is all but confirmed for Hela. Yet, there are still plenty cast members from the first two films unsure of their return for Ragnarok. One of those cast members being Ray Stevenson.
Stevenson has previously stated that, while it seems like a “no-brainer” to have Volstagg and the Warriors Three return for the third Thor installment, he wasn’t entirely sure if it would happen. And from the sound of things, not much has changed. During a recent interview with the folks over at Reel Film News, Stevenson reaffirmed that he wasn’t sure if his character would be back, although he hopes to return.
I’m not sure, to be honest with you. … Would I love to be involved in that? I hope so. However, even if I’m not, I just wish [Marvel Studios] continued success in their incredible endeavor.
Thor: Ragnarok, which will be released on November 17th, 2017, enters production in June, so we should have a better idea of the full cast over the coming months.
