Heroic Hollywood dropped another episode of their regular round-table discussion Heroic Insider a few days go. The commentators, Daniel Altar and guest Devin Faraci are quick revel in Captain America: Civil War‘s deserved box office domination, roundly agreeing, along with everyone else, that it really is the superhero ensemble movie to beat this year.

However, when the conversation turns to a recent poll concerning the continued popularity of Scarlett Johansson‘s Black Widow, host Umberto Mayimbe briefly mentions the prospect of a Hawkeye solo Netflix show (around 20 minutes in), something that Faraci seems to acknowledge. Do they know something we don’t? Of course, it’s difficult to gauge if there’s any real substance to this speculation so perhaps it’s best to keep more than a pinch of salt handy for the time being. That said, this source has been on the nose before, so could it be that Clint Barton’s continued low-key presence on the movie side of the MCU is in fact leading to a break-out appearance on Netflix or broadcast television? You can read the full quote below.

There was a pitch document – might be a little bit of a scoop here – uh for, I think you [Devin] might have heard this as well, for Hawkeye to have like a series… and I think Black Widow was included in that list as well.

Stranger things have happened and there’s certainly been vocal enthusiasm online for a TV adaption of Hawkeye’s recent comic book run by Matt Fraction. That series, featuring Barton as a down-on-his-luck bachelor doesn’t quite gel with the character’s arc in the movies – we saw him married with kids in Avengers: Age of Ultron – but it’s fun to speculate what could be. Would you be interested in a Hawkeye series? Sound off in the comments below.
