Time means nothing to the Master of the Mystic Arts. Apparently this is the case with his movie as well. A little over a week ago it was reported that the Australian theater chain Event Cinemas has put the runtime of Doctor Strange into their upcoming schedule at 130 minutes. This would have put the good doctor’s runtime in the sweet spot of most Marvel Cinematic Universe films. It was acknowledged at the time, however, that it was possible the 130 minutes was just a best guess and entered as a place holder.
As it turns out, this latter theory is correct.
Director Scott Derrickson took to Twitter on Wednesday to say, simply, “that reported run time is false” — no more…no less.
@slashfilm that reported run time is false.

This was anticipated, and should have been, considering the film is still in post-production, but it would be hard to imagine that the purported runtime is much off that mark. Ten minutes either way will still mean a nice long stretch in the theater when the movie is released in the US on November 4, 2016.
