possible spoilers below…….
After a flurry of information on Doctor Strange, the recent focus has gone back to Captain America: Civil War in a major way. The Russo brothers have made countless statements about their upcoming project and their future.
Whether it be Red Hulk, Vision and Spider-Man, or the opening of the movie, they have been talking about basically every part of the movie. However, they are back again talking about a few new pieces of information.
One of the biggest and most popular pieces of speculation surrounds Ant-Man and what his appearance will be like. Some recent toys seem to reveal that he will make the leap to Giant-Man in Civil War. Now thanks to their interview with Geek Girl Authority, they actually commented on whether he will grow or not.
Anthony: They’ve made a lot of toys for other films that aren’t in the movies.
However, this one could pan out with him saying this is
One of those situations that could be somewhat perplexing to the audience if he were not to appear in the movie.
Joe: Ask us this question after May 6th.
When they were asked about the journey that Captain America takes, they said
Anthony: Tony has a profoundly emotional journey in Civil War, whereas, with Cap, we see him the most flawed he’s ever been.
Cap is making a very personal choice in the movie. It’s the first time in his life that he’s putting himself in front of, I wouldn’t say the greater good, but his duty or society.” He then added, “There’s a really specific reason that he does that. You could make the argument that he’s wrong for doing that. And there are a lot of people who would make the argument that he’s right.
He’s more controversial than Tony is.
Speaking of Tony, they also commented on how different his arc is in comparison to Captain America’s.
Anthony: Tony’s a little more Cut and Dry. When you see the film, you understand he has a very strong emotional reason for doing what he does. It’s very easy to get behind that reason. We tried our hardest to give both characters a very complex, very personal drives for what they do in the film. Each drive is in conflict with the other so you know it can’t end well.
There have been recent rumors about how Captain America’s arc will end in Civil War. Chris Evans has already gone on record saying he is part of the cast for Avengers: Infinity War and the Russos confirmed just that,
Joe: It will include Cap, certainly Cap will be a part of it.
Should the movie end similar to the comic run, there will have to be an interesting explanation as to how Captain America could come back to face Thanos.
Captain America: Civil War is scheduled to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
