It’s been rumored for a about a week now, but it looks as though it’s finally confirmed. The second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will receive a two-hour season finale.

Seriable has just posted a synopsis for the finale that hints at “shocking sacrifices”.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – TWO-HOUR SEASON FINALE – “S.O.S. Part One / S.O.S. Part Two”

S.H.I.E.L.D. puts everything on the line to survive a war that blurs the line between friend and foe. Coulson and his team will be forced to make shocking sacrifices that will leave their relationships and their world changed forever, on the two-hour season finale of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” TUESDAY, MAY 12 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

And if that wasn’t enough confirmation, cast member Luke Mitchell (Lincoln) tweeted this:

It’s worth noting that Cobie Smulders confirmed she’d be appearing on the show again this season. Given that they brought in Samuel L. Jackson (Fury) for last season’s finale, it’d be a safe bet to say they are bringing in Maria Hill for the season finale.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays on ABC. Be sure to tune in!
