Despite no official announcement from Marvel Studios about Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and many declarations by James Gunn that he still hasn’t decided to direct the film IF it happens, an apparently ambitious Steven Tyler has made it known that he would love a role in the film.
The 68-year old Aerosmith frontman, known for his incredible vocals, spoke to his hopes while promoting an upcoming film of his, Happy Birthday, with People Magazine saying, “I hope [audiences] enjoy [Happy Birthday]. I know I did! It made me want to do more movies for sure, I would do anything to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 – are you listening, James Gunn?”
Given the uncertainty of the project, it’s no slam dunk that Tyler will make his way to the MCU, but there’s certainly no shortage of interesting situations in which the singer/actor could find himself. Given the quirky nature of the actors that have been chosen to portray the Elders of the Universe (Benicio del Toro and Jeff Goldblum) perhaps Tyler could fit in a minor role as one of them.
A third Guardians of the Galaxy film is expected and, at this point, presumed to be one of the 3 untitled Marvel films planned for release in 2020. Time will tell if James Gunn will get Back in the Saddle and if Steven Tyler has What It Takes or if he’s just Crazy.
