Before there was a thing such as a cinematic universe, Marvel Studios made their break into the film industry with Iron Man. When the credits rolled, fans who sat though them were treated with the first appearance of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. This is where we heard the term “Avengers” for the first time.

Since then, Marvel Studios has gone on to make 12 films that feature a combined 17 mid and post-credit scenes. Just as how the movies are connected through characters, locations, and more, the post-credit scenes have further connected the universe.

They have become a staple of Marvel films, and something that fans look forward to with each new release. Earlier this week, Marvel released a Phase 2 Box Set, and one of the bonus features included was an in-depth look at the making of these scenes. Thanks to Iwant Cupcakes on Vimeo (via CBM), those of us who did not buy the box set can see the clip as well.

Marvel’s famous post-credit scenes will likely continue when Phase 3 begins and Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
