Even though it was just announced, we’re less than a year away from Marvel’s The Inhumans premiere in IMAX theaters and on ABC. So it comes as no surprise that we’re beginning to receive news about the people involved in the show. The first name to be officially attached to the program is a surprising one, but a familiar one for MCU fans. Scott Buck, who you might recognize as the showrunner for Iron Fist, will also serve as the showrunner for The Inhumans.
This is a huge vote of confidence in Buck from Marvel. Iron Fist is Buck’s first showrunning gig since Dexter, which is infamous for its dramatic drop in quality during its final three seasons (the ones overseen by Buck). However, if Marvel has asked him to take the helm of a second show, it’s safe to say that they’re happy with his work so far on Iron Fist. With some scenes of The Inhumans taking place on the moon and dealing with the Inhuman royal family, there may be some stylistic and thematic overlap with the mystical elements of Iron Fist.
While we still don’t know much about The Inhumans, we’ll hopefully get to see evidence of Buck’s capable work on March 17, 2017 when Iron Fist hits Netflix.
The first two episodes of Marvel’s The Inhumans are expected to hit IMAX theaters next Labor Day weekend, with the full season airing Tuesdays on ABC later that September.
