With filming set to kick off on the third Thor movie this June in Australia, we’re beginning to learn new bits of information regarding Thor: Ragnarok. We already know that Marvel Cinematic Universe newbies, Cate Blanchett and Tessa Thompson, have both joined the film and are rumored to play Hela and Valkyrie, respectively. And we also know that Mark Ruffalo will be making his first appearance within the MCU outside of an Avengers film – not including the after credits scene from Iron Man 3, of course – in the upcoming flick. Now, courtesy of the folks over at Comicbook.com, we know the working title of Taika Waititi‘s first Marvel entry, and much like with the working title for the Spider-Man reboot, it’s a rather odd one: Creature Report.
They also reveal some interesting information regarding this working title, according to Comicbook.com, “Creature Reports” is a segment from an animated children’s program on the BBC.
“Creature Reports” are a segment on the BBC animated children’s program, Octonauts. They’re musical numbers that give kids facts about animals, and they’re amazing. It’s also on the Australian Broadcasting Channel and distributed in the US by Disney Jr. Apparently someone on the production team must love the show. Activate Creature Report!
It’s not as fun as Summer of George, which Spider-Man: Homecoming will be filming under this summer, but it’s definitely a rather amusing choice. (For reference, the first Thor movie filmed under the title Manhattan, while Thor: The Dark World, filmed under the working title of Thursday Morning.)
Thor: Ragnarok will hit movie theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
