Up to this point, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has managed to remain fairly straightforward when it comes to the matter of continuity in its timeline. With the exception of Iron Man 2, the events of all of the MCU films have taken place chronologically in the order that they were released. This is about to change, however, with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.
In usual fashion, James Gunn took to Facebook earlier this week to answer some fan questions in the comments of the latest piece of concept art that was released earlier this week. When asked how long it would take Baby Groot to grow back to full size, he had this to say:
This is surprising, as most of the MCU films have taken place months or even years apart from each other, but given that the Guardians will be more or less separate from the rest of the MCU until Avengers: Infinity War, it won’t be too hard to keep track of the film’s continuity within the MCU.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 blasts into theaters on May 5th, 2017 and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Kurt Russell, and Sylvester Stallone
