To express his excitement about Luke Cage arriving in just ten days, showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker shared some production images on Twitter this morning and, in so doing, also announced the directors of the first three episodes and the writer of the third (it was previously announced that Coker himself wrote the first two episodes of the series). Coker’s shots show the level of heavy-hitting talent that was assembled for this show.

The first image is of series cinematographer Manuel Billiter with star Mike Colter on the set. Billiter was the cinematographer for Jessica Jones and for the upcoming Iron Fist Netflix series. He was also named one of Variety’s “10 Cinematographers to Watch in 2016” back in April.

The second image is of episode 101 and 102 director Paul McGuigan. McGuigan cemented himself in the television pantheon before coming to Luke Cage by directing four episodes of Sherlock, including the standard-setting first episode A Study in Pink.

And the third shows episode 103 director Guillermo Navarro and writer Matt Owens. Navarro directed an episode of AMC’s Preacher and was the cinematographer for Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth.

Coker’s images give us a nice quick look into the goings-on on set while establishing even more cred for the creators of this show, and making us realize this is going to be a LONG TEN DAYS before Luke Cage drops on Netflix on September 30th!
