Last nights explosive episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was one to be remembered. With the introduction of our first live Kree on Earth (which we were first to report on), we were given a brief history of the mythology and origins of Terrigenesis and the Terrigen Crystals. This information unfortunately causes Skye to reveal her own transformation, causing quite the rift and changing the dynamic of the group forever. Additionally, the secret between Bobbi and Mack is coming to a head after Mack was forced to incapacitate Hunter for confronting him about the lies.
EW sat down with executive producer Jeffrey Bell to discuss Skye’s inability to control her powers, what Cal has been up to and where the Mack/Bobbi secret is heading.
Speaking on controlling Skye’s powers:
In addition to coping with the physicality of her new gift, Coulson realizes Skye needs someone who can help her emotionally, that person is May’s (Ming-Na Wen) ex-husband (Blair Underwood), a psychologist who has consulted with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the past
On Cal’s (Skye’s father) agenda:
He has a specific agenda in mind, a point he wants to make in a very large, very public way. So he assembles a group of villainous characters. Many of them will be familiar to hard core Marvel fans. Drea de Matteo (as Karla Faye Gideon) is his first delightful acquisition as he gathers up his group.
Talking about the mysterious secret between Bobbi and Mack:
All we can tease is that this is setting up a large new story arc on the show and that all will be revealed very soon
