Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter fans, rejoice! Variety has just confirmed that both shows have been renewed by ABC! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return for a third season, while Agent Carter will return for a second. While the renewal of S.H.I.E.L.D. was never in question, especially with the spin-off in development, Agent Carter remained on the bubble. The show was a hit with critics and fans, but it never really pulled in the ratings they’d hoped for. So its renewal is a pleasant surprise.

Along with the S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off, set to be headlined by Mockingbird, there’s also another Marvel show in the works at ABC with Oscar-winning writer-producer John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) on board. As of right now, there’s no word on whether either show will move forward at ABC, or what Ridley’s show will be about, but I’d expect to hear something relatively soon.

The season two two-hour finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will air this Tuesday on ABC. Be sure to tune in! And if you have yet to catch-up on Agent Carter, head over here to see why you need to!
