Here is something that many Marvel fans may have forgotten about. At one point in 2014, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was developing a spin-off for Adrianne Palicki‘s Mockingbird and Nick Blood‘s Lance Hunter titled Most Wanted. It had quite a cast behind it with Delroy Lindo cast as Dominic Fortune, a well-known rogue from the comics, Fernanda Andrade as his niece Christina Santos and Oded Fehr teased as a well-known comic character, whose identity sadly was never released. Little was known about the series outside of the fact that the two would be joining Fortune after being forced to leave SHIELD during its third season. It seems Palicki has actually seen the pilot that was declined by ABC and offered a tease of what could have been.

“Oh, I saw the pilot. It was actually really, really good. It was a little darker, grittier. It’s kind of an extension of what we were dealing with before, where we, like, ended up trying to get married again and all hell breaks loose because people are after us. Ultimately it’s us just kind of fighting for our lives.”

It certainly seems like the show could have gone in an interesting direction. A lot of elements might have found their way into SHIELD, which has become a much more darker and grittier show with each season. It was still a weird time if you consider that this show was once described as a no-brainer for renewal only for it to be canceled shortly after. The last time we heard of it was in 2016, where Marvel TV CEO Jeph Loeb gave some insight into the decision. Some are still a bit baffled but at the time there was a stronger draw for the “superhero” angle. Especially with Daredevil being in production for Netflix at the time. Still, it would be great to see this unaired pilot make its way at some point, maybe via Disney+ and Hulu. It is strange to think that the show that would follow ended up being the critically panned Inhumans mini-series.

What are your thoughts? Would you have wanted to watch Most Wanted?
