If Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has proven anything, it is quite a tenacious show in the ratings department, especially in a time slot that is quite famous as the death slot. With only one more episode to go, the show about a band of misfit spies is still holding in there in the latest live ratings.

S.H.I.E.L.D. managed to pull in 0.7 share in adults of 18 – 49 with a total audience of 2.14 million. This marks the third week in a row that the show managed to keep its share. This is quite an accomplishment for the time slot it is in, but it sadly still quite low for the network. It must also be pointed out that shows on other networks are doing has no influence on ABC, as they only compare their own ratings to see what show grabs the largest audience, and subsequently is worth more for advertisers.

The finale’s release could potentially be the most interesting one, as each season has seen a different development. In its first season, S.H.I.E.L.D. saw an increase to a 2.0 from a 1.9, while the following finale managed to see a decrease by 2 points to a 1.3. The release of last season’s final episode “Ascension” actually saw another increase by 0.1 points to a 1.0. If we go by this trend this show could see another stark drop, but word-of-mouth may offer the show the possibility to see an increase once more, as excitement rises to see how the “Agents of Hydra” pod comes to an end.
