Music was never the MCU’s strongest suit, with the exception of a handful of themes. Easily the most iconic is Alan Silvestri‘s Avengers theme, a theme I think a lot of fans would consider as one of the best in the genre. Earlier today, the Russos took to social media to announce that Silvestri has finished composing the score for Avengers: Endgame.
One of the greatest highlights of our career was getting to work with Alan Silvestri.

If you haven’t been keeping track, Silvestri first wrote for Captain America: The First Avenger and was tapped to do Joss Whedon’s Avengers film. For reasons officially unknown (the penny pinching Ike Perlmutter might be to blame), Marvel benched Silvestri for Brian Tyler in Avengers: Age of Ultron, resulting in what I think is a very mediocre and forgettable score. The franchise’s music returned to form in Avengers: Infinity War when Silvestri gave us several amazing pieces of music and I can’t wait to hear what he has for the last one.
