The part I was looking forward to the most in that incredible Black Panther trailer? A first look at Klaue’s hand canon which they delivered. Ever since they introduced that pufferfish-fearing mercenary in Avengers: Age of Ultron, his villainous journey, regardless of how long it would end up being, was something I gravitated towards to. It’s the same with Bruck Rumlow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. If you knew the comics, you knew what the journey was going to be like. And if you know anything about Ulysses Klaw in the comics, he’s got some mad beef with Wakanda. Andy Serkis spoke to IGN and revealed just what the root of this beef is in the MCU:

[Klaue is] furious about what’s happened [in Black Panther]. So it is personal with T’Challa. He also wants to expose what he thinks is the hypocrisy of Wakanda. That’s really what drives him. As well as his addiction to vibranium.

We learn in Age of Ultron that Klaue gained notoriety among Wakandans when he was caught stealing vibranium from the fabled city. We’re not entirely sure what changes Wakanda will be going through that’ll rile up Klaue to the point of making it personal with the King but we can probably guess that it has something to do with vibranium. Maybe Klaue has some problems with how it’s being handled or something? It’s clear in the trailer that Klaue and Killmonger are colluding so it’ll be interesting to see just how their motivations line up and whether Klaue has something else up his sleeve.

Anyone else dig Klaue’s new hand in the trailer? Let us know in the comments below!
