Ant-Man has had an interesting ride and we are now less than two months away from the theatrical release. Empire Magazine’s next issue will have a complete spread on the next addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Some fans may still be skeptical of the movie’s direction, especially after losing Edgar Wright as the director one year ago to the day. Marvel does not have that same concern as they have already announced that Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man) will appear in Captain America: Civil War next year. Rudd was even spotted on set earlier this week.
After Wright’s departure, Marvel named Peyton Reed as the new director and he teamed up with Paul Rudd to revamp the script to fit the larger picture that Marvel has. Empire Magazine asked Reed about any possible cameos in Ant-Man and specifically about Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/The Falcon).
“That’s classified information. That’s buried. It’s possible.”
“It’s all connected” is the unofficial subtitle for the MCU and that means that cameos by other members of the universe will pop up from time to time. Should Falcon or possibly the entire New Avengers cameo in Ant-Man, it would certainly be a crowd-pleaser. These possible cameos would also help shed light on how Ant-Man will appear in Captain America: Civil War.
Ant-Man hits theaters in the US July 17, 2015.
