Ever since Ant-Man was released back in July, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of a possible sequel. Much to our surprise, Marvel has just announced that we will be getting an Ant-Man sequel in the form of Ant-Man And The Wasp!
The film is slated to hit theaters on July 6, 2018 and will obviously feature the return of Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as the two heroes. If you read this site often, you might remember this was an idea for the sequel we mentioned back in July. Also, if this release date sounds familiar to you, it’s because that was the (second) date that Black Panther was supposed to come out.
Black Panther has now been moved up in the schedule to February 16, 2018. The decision to move the film up could be based on how well the character is testing in Captain America: Civil War footage. And it also doesn’t hurt that they might have found their writer for the film.
Unfortunately, poor Carol Danvers and her Captain Marvel movie got pushed back yet again to March 8, 2019, which means that the previous date of November 2, 2018 is now available.
If Marvel still wants that date for a Phase 3 film, it’s possible they could do a quick turn around and have Sony put a Spider-Man movie out in that date. However, Marvel also announced that they have 3 new release dates for untitled projects that will come out on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020. And it’s safe to assume one of those will be a new title. Ms. Marvel perhaps?
