As the first wave of hype for Avengers: Infinity War settles all over the world, it’s time to start turning our attention to Marvel Studios’ next offering, Ant-Man & the Wasp, which comes out 2 months from now. Following that crazy fun trailer that they put out last week, some new BTS photos have surfaced courtesy of a follower of ours on Twitter. We’re not sure where these photos exactly came from but will let you know as soon as we find out. Check the photos here!
So there’s A LOT to take in with these photos. The thing that stands out the most to me is that we have our first look at Randall Park as S.H.I.E.L.D./FBI agent Jimmy Woo. Jimmy Woo, for those who aren’t aware, is one of them classic espionage characters from the pre-Marvel Golden Age of Comics. He originally started out as an FBI agent and was later rewritten into a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the comics. Given how prevalent the FBI seems to be in this film, we’re guessing this Jimmy Woo starts out similarly. If I’m not mistaken, Woo might be the first comic-famous S.H.I.E.L.D. character to show up in the films after Maria Hill. Randall Park has got some real comedic chops and from how animated he looks in the image, you could tell how much of a comic relief he’s going to be.
There are a bunch of other images here worth noting. We have that shot of Walton Goggins‘ Sonny Burch lifting the miniaturized building prevalent in the trailers. We get a good look at the classic Wasp costume though it isn’t clear if that’s Evangeline Lilly in it or a stunt double for a young Michelle Pfeiffer. There’s a shot of Scott Lang doing a funny card trick with his mouth in front of his ex-wife and Cassie as well as Scott playing an electronic drumkit. Why they didn’t let him slappa da bass instead is beyond me.
Shoutout to Muhammad Yazid Farhan for tagging us in these photos!
