This morning, me and my co-EIC Charles Murphy were talking about the Ant-Man & the Wasp trailer, coming up with reasons why Scott, Hank, and Hope were running from the bad guys. According to the other Charles, the thing the bad guys are after is Hank’s mobile PymTech lab and that Walton Goggins‘ Sonny Burch can be seen briefly in the trailer carrying the miniaturized building. And like how Charles Murphy is with most of his recent scoops and theories, he seems to be on the money with this one too as new Ant-Man & the Wasp set photos reveal the mysterious baddie Ghost getting her hands on the building.
While these photos aren’t technically our first peek at Ghost on-set, they do give us a real good look at her costume and all its details. We dig it a lot and like how our MCU villains are becoming more visually interesting as the films go.
Anyway, back to the theory. Readers who’ve been following the production of this film are aware of the chase scene featured in the trailer thanks to a bunch of set photos that leaked last September. The Wasp and Ghost duke it out sometime in the chase, Ghost gets what she needs, and she then passes it on to Sonny Burch in the ferry. It makes sense, right? The thing we’re now wondering is why need the building. I have a theory that Laurence Fishburne‘s Bill Foster is in on this villainous scheme and that he’s after the Quantum Tech inside the miniaturized building. The other Charles has a different idea than mine but does think that Foster has a connection to the building.
What do you think is going on in this chase sequence? Why do the bad guys need that building? Tell us about your theories in the comments below!
