While the whole world is in shambles due to the virus pandemic, no word has been given if the scheduled production for Sony’s untitled Spider-Man 3 film will push through on July. However, it doesn’t mean that developments about the film has been placed on hold. A new report from Discussing Film reveals that returning MCU cinematographer, Seamus McGarvey, is set to join Tom Holland and Jon Watts in next year’s untitled Spider-Man 3 film.
McGarvey is not a stranger to the MCU movies as he last worked with Joss Whedon in The Avengers as well as helping out Kenneth Branagh in the post credit scene of Thor. On top of the MCU films, other notable works of McGarvey include the likes of Godzilla, Bad Times At The El Royale, Fifty Shades Of Grey, and The Greatest Showman. An impressive resume along with his MCU knowledge proves that McGarvey is a good addition to the behind the scenes crew of the Tom Holland-led sequel to Spider-Man:Far From Home.
Aside from the returning Holland and Watts, McGarvey joins screenwriters Erik Sommars and Chris McKenna. If production will not be pushed back, the film is slated to premiere in the summer of 2021.
