Just when everyone thought Avengers: Endgame was done and could no longer beat Avatar as the highest grossing film in history, Marvel shakes things up again. The film is getting an official re-release this weekend, with additional scenes that did not make the original cut. It is unclear whether it will be a global re-release or if it will be limited to American cinemas. During a press junket for Spider-Man: Far From Home in the UK, Lord Feige himself confirmed the information to Comicbook.com:

We are doing that. I don’t know if it’s been announced. And I don’t know how much… Yeah, we’re doing it next weekend. Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises.

The additional scenes should manage to get at least most of the fans excited to see the film once more in theaters, while the proximity of Far From Home should also boost sales once more. Like what happened with Captain Marvel when Endgame premiered, the expectation is that the new, highly connected movie will give the film some more legs in the coming weeks.

Let’s all head to cinemas this weekend to catch some more footage of the film!
