Avengers: Endgame has a lot to accomplish. It needs to be a follow-up to one of Marvel Studios’ most ambitious films, Avengers: Infinity War, and cap off one of their most ambitious projects. It took some time but we finally got our first look at the film just a few weeks ago and it was quite a dramatic sight to behold. The film did not show any action sequences but focused on the aftermath of what was Thanos’ masterplan. It also managed to surpass the viewer rate of Infinity War to become the most-viewed trailer within the first 24 hours of release. Moreover, many characters that were not featured in the last film will finally make their appearance. Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, and Ant-Man have already been confirmed and there may be a chance that we will see many familiar faces make a return as well. It will be an even more stuffed film than the previous one, which made many wonders about just how long the film will end up being. It seems we may have an answer, as the film’s directors Joe and Anthony Russo offered some more insight into what we can expect.

“There’s a high probability that this movie will clock in at around three hours. It’s a big movie with a lot of story.”

A film of such magnitude will be hard to condense in just two hours. The directors do highlight that their main focus is to tell a good story, which certainly is a good way to approach the project. They already proved their ability to balance the many elements of the MCU. It almost feels like the available cast of characters grows with each installment they tackle. As far as we know, this film will solve the events from the last films as they search for a way to bring back the fallen allies. The trailer focused on these dramatic aspects as we are facing the end of the MCU as we know it. We will see how their actions will affect the rest of the ever-expanding universe.

What do you think? Would you watch a three-hour Avengers film?
